Tips for writing in Arabic

  • Turn the book upside down in order to move the margin to the correct side for Arabic writing
  • Leave a line
  • Love the line, ie write close to the line
  • Long letters are alif ( ا ), kaaf ( ك ), laam ( ل )and twa ( ط )
  • Laam comes halfway back up ( ل )
  • Line letters are 2/3rd or half of an alif: daal ( د ), hamza ( ء ), haa ( ه ), baa ( ب ), faa ( ف) are one alif wide
